I have a number of friends and relatives on Facebook who for some reason think that the #occupy protests are dumb, or people just complaining. I’m sure some of you are in the same boat. Part of me just wants to ignore them, but another part wants them to be able to understand what is really going on, and why they should be behind us.
Anyone have a similar situation, and have any advice?
I consider myself a news junkie and fairly political so I was following from when I first heard about it in Adbusters a few months ago. But, I talked to a coworker about it the other day, and today my boss asked me about the local march I went to the other day. (I work in retail so my boss is only a store manager and not some high power executive) but it is still cool that people are talking about it and that it is not just reaching those looking actively for it.
I also took my parents with me down to the local encampment the other day, it is good to see people in action.
We need to do more than reblog and tweet about it, we need to tell our parents, friends and co-workers, our teachers, pastors, and mailmen. Get it into everyday conversation
So being a Seattle native, I still have a soft spot for my fellow rabble-rousers in the Northwest. Especially when I read that Occupy Portland had 3-5,000 people marching last weekend! The last thing Seattle needs is more of an inferiority complex about competing with Portland :) so I was glad to…
Congressman DeFazio of Oregon speaks in support of OccupyWallStreet and the 99%.
Fiery!
Fuck yeah WE GET IT.
Can this guy be president?

Wow…Wow…
Over a thousand cities in the US alone…holy crap
Plus cities on six continents (I’m assuming it’s Antarctica that hasn’t gotten on the bandwagon yet….they’re all just a bunch of penguins down there.)
When I first saw the idea months ago in AdBusters I hoped for something big, but wasn’t entirly sure what would come of it.
I hate to use the same word so many times, but
Wow, wow, wow….it’s amazing….we will change this world!
