Anyone know where to find good internships?

Preferably in Design, and In the New Orleans area?

I don’t have the time, or  the patience to simply get coffee, or do shit work for someone so they can make money off of me.  (especially since that is not what an internship is supposed to be, yet people still try to pass it off as an opportunity)

Does anyone know anything about finding if a book is still in copyright?

I’ve got this book “France, Paris, and the Provinces,” that was published in 1948, and the copyright records are only searchable before 1978 online, and a search of renewed copyrights didn’t turn up anything.

I looked for the publisher, which was a division of McGraw-Hill, back then but didn’t come up with anything.  McGraw-Hill is only educational now and couldn’t find a link to check on what they hold in copyright.

I don’t know what else to do to look up the copyright, but I don’t want to use something that is in copyright.

How old is too old to date an 18 year old?

I mean mostly I work with 18 year old girls, and a few of them are really cute.

(I mean I’m their manager so I don’t know if it’s against the rules.)

But, I feel that I may be out of that range.

Plus, where does one take someone under 21 on a date?  I mean I live in New Orleans, I can think of a thousand places to go that serve alcohol.

I guess you could just go to a movie or something?

What show should I watch next?

On either Netflix, Hulu+, or Amazon Prime.

I just finished Arrested Development (for like the 4th time), and Community, Raising Hope, Parks and Rec, Warehouse 13, Eureka…

Just something funny, and engaging, with characters you actually care about…

That seems to be asking a lot but if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

theeconomist:

The new thundering herd. Talk of crowdfunding as a short-lived fad has largely ceased, as evidence mounts that lots of people value personal engagement with projects they help to finance.

I’m thinking about doing a project with either IndyGoGo or Kickstarter…but I don’t know which one to use.  Has anyone else used either and have any opinions?

I need you opinions.  I am working on a welcome card for my family reunion gift bags, and was thinking a simple stamp-like image of St. Louis Cathedral.  Yet I don’t want it simple 1 pt line (ala #25).  Which of the other ones do people like?  Any opinions.

Indie theater in New Orleans?

That might show Moonrise Kingdom, and/or Safety not Guaranteed plus other non-mega movies.

I thought Canal Place was such a location, but looking at their website all I saw was MIB 3, and similar crap. ?

So we’re having a family reunion here in New Orleans in late July

we’re putting together gift bags of New Orleans stuff to put in the hotel rooms…

We’re thinking some,

  • Zapp’s
  • Crystal Hot Sauce
  • Slap Ya Mama Seasoning
  • Big Shots
  • Hubig Pies

So, one if you guys can think of anything else cheap and New Orleans-y let me know.  (we don’t want like beignet mixes or king cake mixes)

Also, If you know where to buy Crystal or Slap Ya Mama cheap for like 15 bottles, let me know.

Thinking of Ideas of a creative leave behind with some of my work for interviews.

What would you think of a vintage book (some obscure title or science book = cheap/interesting) with postcards with my work kind of as bookmarks left in the books.  Maybe a strip wrapped around the book with my name, and contact info?

I want to do this project but am not sure how to proceed

I was hoping to make a kind of notebook with pages that have different strips that you can peel off and an adhesive back would be exposed so that you can place images/thing on the page.  I wanted to make it for like a book to collect artwork that inspires me, and to be able to just peel off the sticker back and place the item on the adhesive.

Does any of that make any sense?  Anyway, I can’t seem to find the items I want. Does anyone know of a place where i could maybe get it custom made?
